The Pozo del Cielo hotel was opened in 2001 at Chivay district, province of Caylloma, in the heart of the Colca Valley. It initially had 20 rooms divided between single, double and matrimonial rooms; it currently has 36 rooms classified as standard, superior and suites.
Sloping roofs and a charmingly higgledy-piggledy design give the hotel a rustic design inspired by the location, built with local stone with traditional adobe walls painted in earthy ochre tones. The hotel also has an attractive dining hall with a log burning stove.
The hotel boasts hot water, heating and carpeting; it also count of a restaurant which offers traditional foods. There is also a bar, which offers classic and exotic cocktails. Its guests may enjoy panoramic views and a mystical tour which includes a visit to some community inhabited by spiritual doctors and people who practice ancient customs.
The hotel is divided in two levels occupying a total of 36 m2; this hotel counts only a suite which gives its guests excellent views of the valley.
