Luggage Tips & Climate Advice
Packing for Ecuador
Ecuador is the country of the 4 worlds, Amazonia, Sierra, Coast, and Overseas Islands. And this biodiversity of landscapes and ecosystems makes it a challenge to pack a suitcase to cope with its variety of climates and zones. That’s why we bring you the following summary of things to consider before visiting Ecuador.
Documents
- Passport
- Travel Insurance
- Flight info
- Lodging info
- Visa
- Vaccination certificates
- Health condition certificate
Visa
- Most visitors to Ecuador do not need a VISA. Only a valid document whose expiration date is more than 6 months after leaving Ecuadorian territory.
- If you hold a passport from any of the listed countries, you must apply for an Ecuadorian visa at your nearest consulate. These countries include Eritrea, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Somalia, China, Nepal, Nigeria, and Kenya. Passport holders who also possess United States Green Cards may apply for a visa waiver, which can also be done at the nearest Ecuadorian consulate.
Galapagos Case
- If you plan on visiting the Galapagos Islands, you must pay a single National Park entrance fee of $100. This payment should be made in person upon your arrival, although you can also include it in the final price of your tour package. Please ensure that you have cash available.
- The entrance fee for Galapagos National Park and the INGALA card are included in your travel expenses. However, some processes have been affected by the pandemic, so they may not function as before. Nevertheless, your guides will have a comprehensive understanding of these developments and will apprise you of minor details to ensure your travels proceed seamlessly.
